Is There Not A Cause?

“From the Heart” teaching by Drs. Rodney & Adonica Howard-Browne.

And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. 4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5 And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. 6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. 7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him. 8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. 9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us. 10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid. 1 Samuel 17:3-11 KJV

Do not put your confidence in man:

The Israelites begged God for a king, so He gave them one they were happy with, who stood head and shoulders above them. However, when an enemy larger than all of them appeared, they were all terrified, because their confidence was in the arm of the flesh. In the natural, the enemy was too big for them, and their king. They had put their trust in man and not in God. They were paralyzed by fear – their enemy had the upper hand without a fight – through threats and through their own fear.

And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren. 23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid. 25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel. 26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? 27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him. 28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. 29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause? 1 Samuel 17:22-29 KJV

Is there not a cause?

David did not consider the size of his enemy – he considered the power of his God. Even his own brother thought he was being presumptuous. Every one believed in God, but still they could not see what David saw. Many people have a head-knowledge of God, but have no real faith in His power to save and deliver. Fear cannot receive or agree with faith talk. Fear tries to extinguish the fires of faith. David had total faith and confidence in God and not in the arm of the flesh. If there is a cause that is God’s cause, then through faith and obedience, we will prevail when we take up the challenge.

And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. 37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. 1 Samuel 17:32-37 KJV

Learn to trust God in the small things and it will be easier to trust Him in the big things:

David wasn’t just spouting off nonsense. He had actual experience of God’s help and strength in the face of much larger, more dangerous opponents. By God’s power, David killed a lion and a bear, why would a giant be harder to kill – especially since it was a just cause? Goliath defied God, when he defied the armies of the living God. God will not be mocked and His enemies will fall before Him – He is looking for the David’s who will not be afraid, and who will go at His command and take out the lions and the bears and the giants! Will you be one of them?

Testimony by Mr. James

But the Bible says “the power of life and death are in the tongue. It speaks of using it to edify, And says you will be judged for every word that comes out of your mouth and on and on so this is no small matter. So we must all watch what comes out of our mouths , as for me I make a conscious decision to do just that.

What Is Celebrate America?

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne, with Revival Ministries International, are looking forward to Celebrate America just as they did in the summer of 1999 when, for six weeks consecutively, they rented Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena, for Good News New York!

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne are inviting local churches, the community, and members of government, in which many of them will be sharing their faith, and all nationalities to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 239 years old. During Celebrate America, we will commemorate the Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember The Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact of which they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come. Celebrate America.

Dear Friends,

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne invite you to join them for Celebrate America this July in Washington D.C. at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Constitution Hall. Just as we looked forward to Good News New York in the summer of 1999 at Madison Square Garden, we are looking forward to this event.

Local churches, the community, members of government (many of whom will be sharing their faith), all Americans, and anyone, from any nation, who loves America, are invited to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 238 years old. During these 14 days of Celebrate America, we will commemorate the United States Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember the Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come.

Pastors, leaders, church groups, youth groups, and all believers, all around America, we ask you to begin praying for America, her leaders, and for Celebrate America. And we also encourage you to make plans to join us and to be a part of this very timely event.

The evening meetings are at 7 PM; admission is free. In the mornings, Power Evangelism will take place at 10 AM. Call, email, Facebook, and Tweet your friends and family to attend and to get involved; volunteers are needed. Sign up today.

I have seen the word of God work in my life since I was a child. I thank God I have a mom who made me go to Sunday school as a child. Even though she did not go she would drop me and my sister off and at young ages we both gave our lives to Jesus. We both still go to church to this day as a result. I wish I could say I followed the Lord all my days but I cannot. The time I remember the word having the biggest effect was when I was eighteen and had backslidden to the point that I didn’t believe in Him anymore. I was so tormented I couldn’t sleep at night. So I began to repent and cry out to Him. I wasn’t sure I was really saved until I spent hours and hours in the Word and change came. Even when I’ve fallen away He’s been faithful to bring me back. I would be totally lost without the Word. I wouldn’t have a clue how I should live. So today how I see the Word of God working is in the areas that the enemy snatched the Word away.

I really wasn’t taught to believe the Word of God for exactly what it says. Specifically, in areas of healing and prosperity and things it takes faith to believe for. But God is so faithful to plow deeper into the ground of my heart and replant those seeds. I’m so thankful He never gives up. God’s Word is true and means what it says no matter what I or man believes.

The word is alive and living on the inside of me.  The word is truth and life and with that word planted on the inside of me, I have life more abundantly.  We were created in the image of God; intended to walk in the authority and power given to us through the name of Jesus.  This power and authority is utilized through the avenue of faith and becomes active and alive in us through the power of our spoken word.  We, as individuals, are the single most important person the word can be spoken through to activate the power of God’s word in our lives.  Our hearts must be tender, receptive and yielding in order for the seeds of God’s goodness and truth to take root in our hearts.   Faith is believing that God’s word is true and knowing in our heart that whatsoever we ask of Him He will provide.  Faith is more than just hearing God’s word with our ears; it is hearing His word in our hearts.  Faith is a verb.   An action on our part, stepping out and believing God is bigger than any circumstance; able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than what we could ask or think. He loves us more than we could imagine.  Once we allow His word to take root in our heart it is important to nourish it with faith and cultivate it with more truth.  Remaining grounded in the word of God will keep the seeds of His word firmly rooted and will ensure us to be healthy and strong in the things of God.  We must be ever mindful of the power our words have over our circumstance and to not speak negatively towards our situation and uproot the seeds of faith we have planted in our hearts.

In 2009 Pastors Eric and Jennifer ministered at a camp meeting where I answered the call of God. When I got prayed for, the presence of God came so strong on me like I had never experienced before. I wept and wept from my guts as I literally felt things lifting off me like birds flying away.

That week I was also delivered from a spirit of fear that had tormented me almost my whole life. After those meetings I started watching the Anointing series and revival.com, and God began to set me free in my mind from strongholds and superstitions, and stir a greater hunger in me. I had been searching for the truth and the presence of God and I knew I finally found what I was looking for! The Lord had never been so real to me in my life.

A year later Pastor Rodney held meetings in my area and I felt the Lord telling me to come to Bible school to prepare for what’s coming. Even the very first week of school God touched my life in such an incredible way.

Every class felt like I was on God’s operating table as He has been doing a work in my heart and changing me. Right from the very first soul winning day God began to give me boldness to witness, where before I would shrink back. He has also been expanding the love of God in my heart for people more and more.

This whole year He has been breaking off layers of fear and condemnation. I’ve experienced the love of God tangibly like I never had before. God has set me free in my mind more and more through the truth of the Word that has been preached in the classes and services. The Lord has also been doing a wonderful work in my family and restoring my relationship with my parents.

There’s so much more I can’t even put adequately into words, I’m so overwhelmed with God’s goodness and so thankful He brought me to RBI……….Victoria D.

So as always we win! I have also held a baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues right there in parking lot as co-workers walked by murmuring.  I have called up those who held offenses on my behalf and apologized to them by the Holy Spirit and allowed God to set them free through me. I have learned how to yield to the Holy Spirit and allow God to have his way. In doing so I signed up for bible school and was accepted with a scholarship praise God. I didn’t know how I was going to do it due to my work schedule not lining up and the hours just not being available in my position at that time.

Me and my husband just believed in God and said if it’s his will he will work it out. Well praise God he did! Not only did I get the hours I needed but I was blessed with a new position and being able to work from home! So here I am in my third week of Bible School here at RBI and Boy was I in for a very big surprise. Pastor John told us that when you get under the fire that things will come up that you did not even know was an issue and God will began to do a work on the inside of you. The Holy Spirit revealed to me while I was laid out under the anointing during RBI Revival service an image of Jesus crucified on the cross. I heard the Holy Spirit very clearly telling me to crucify myself daily. God was telling me the same way I sent my only begotten son as a sacrifice you have to sacrifice the things of this world for me.
